“Startup: In Gear, No Fear” is a project that showcases the incredible potential of students who are steering their own startup ventures.
Students from different majors build their own teams, collaborate on innovative ideas and stimulate playful creativity with other talents.
Each outstanding student is considered a gear, and the combination of gears creates a powerful group
that can overcome any challenge without fear.
SCAD StartUp is a student-run, week-long business design competition open to all SCAD students across the world.
The competition aims to inspire and challenge participants from over 30 majors to conduct research, develop innovative ideas, and present them to industry professionals with the potential to make a global impact.

What can the StartUp provide to students in SCAD?
We are proactive
We are actively seeking out challenges and tackling us head-on. We aren’t waiting for opportunities to come to us.
We are collaborative
We see collaboration as the key. By working together and leveraging each other’s strengths, we build stronger resilient startups.
We are innovative
We are thinking outside the box, developing creative solutions to complex problems, and disrupting industries with our fresh perspectives.
Gear is utilized as a new concept since gears are important mechanical components that mesh together to transmit motion within a system.
Each member functions like a gear in a machine, diligently performing their specific role and working together in harmony to drive the project forward.
In Startup, each member functions like a gear in a machine, diligently performing their specific role and working together in harmony to drive the project forward.
THE PRIMARY COMPONENTS OF THE LOGO
The gear shape, which symbolizes the proactive and collaborative nature of the students involved.
The gears represent the idea of students working together seamlessly, just like interconnected gears in a well-oiled machine.
